Jack E.
“Bobby” Truitt was born in Texas, but raised in New Orleans,
Louisiana. After graduating from Jesuit High School of New Orleans,
he attended Louisiana State University where he obtained a business
administration degree with a minor in political science. He then
obtained his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law and has been
licensed in Louisiana and Texas since. He is admitted to practice in
all Louisiana State and Federal District and Appellate Courts and
had been admitted to the United States Supreme Court as well.
Mr. Truitt
began his practice with a small defense firm that practiced
primarily admiralty, worker’s compensation, and general casualty
litigation. However, he soon joined a larger insurance defense firm
in Metairie, Louisiana where he began trying many cases on behalf of
major national clients such as Kmart, Cox Cable, Tonti Properties,
and Walgreens; there, he obtained numerous “zero verdicts” in bench
and jury trials. Mr. Truitt soon became a partner in this firm, but
was dissatisfied with the “big firm” mentality, so he formed his own
firm with two assistant district attorneys, who thereafter returned
to practicing criminal law on a full-time basis.
The Truitt
Law Firm continued with the association of Jack E. Truitt, Bobby’s
father, who has since passed, and Arthur Brewster and Nancy Butcher.
The firm continues to represent major national clients successfully
at the trial and appellate levels. The firm has significant
experience in the areas of pharmaceutical defense, automobile
litigation, premises liability, worker’s compensation, business
litigation, and criminal defense. Mr. Truitt has been a presenter at
many continuing education seminars for other lawyers, paralegals,
and claims professionals. He is also a member of the Louisiana Bar
Association House of Delegates, the Louisiana Association of Defense
Counsel, and the prestigious Defense Research Institute. He has
achieved the highest rating from his peers in Martindale Hubbell,
and the firm recently was awarded the distinction of approval by
A. M. Best Insurance Ratings.
Mr. Truitt
resides in Covington, Louisiana with his wife and three boys.
ARTHUR J.
BREWSTER. is of
counsel to The Truitt Law Firm, and he maintains his own separate
successful practice. Mr. Brewster graduated from Jesuit High School
and Loyola University School of Law with Bobby Truitt. He obtained
his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of
New Orleans in 1984. He graduated with a J.D. from Loyola in 1987,
and while at Loyola, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal
fraternity.
Mr.
Brewster has tried many jury trials with Mr. Truitt to a successful
result, and he always brings his unique perspective as a personal
injury attorney, in his own firm, to the table. In this respect, Mr.
Brewster is recognized for his expertise in the area of
Federal Longshore and Harbor Worker’s Compensation claims, and he is
a frequent speaker in this area to peers, claims professionals, and
members of the compensation administrative and judicial system.
Mr.
Brewster is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, as
well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern
Districts of Louisiana. He is also admitted to the United States
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. He is a member of the American Bar
Association and the American and Louisiana Trial Lawyer’s
Association.
Mr.
Brewster is married and has three sons. He resides in Metairie,
Louisiana, where he also maintains his own private practice.
Nancy
Butcher was raised in Monroe, Louisiana. After graduating from
high school, she attended college at Southern Methodist University,
where she earned a degree in political science, and then went on to
earn a J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. After
completing a judicial clerkship for the Honorable Donald E. Walter,
United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana,
Ms. Butcher entered private practice and has since been the lead
attorney on numerous bench and jury trials. Ms. Butcher has
represented many corporate clients in her career, including, but not
limited to Wal-Mart, Kmart, Walgreens, Ohio State Casualty, Farmers
Insurance, AIG and Family Dollar Stores. In addition, Ms. Butcher
is a title attorney with her own title company, Southern Trace Title
Company.
Ms. Butcher
resides in Mandeville, Louisiana with her husband and three
children, and continues to practice throughout the state of
