National Ladder Safety Month to kick off tomorrow

Ladders are used in all different kinds of workplaces. So, the range of workers who could potentially suffer ladder accidents on the job is incredibly wide. Such accidents can take a major toll on workers. According to federal data, in 2015, U.S. workers suffered over 20,000 nonfatal injuries in ladder-related incidents at work. The statistics also indicate that such accidents took the lives of over 150 workers that year.

Tomorrow will kick off a brand new campaign aimed at improving workplace ladder safety and reducing ladder accidents. The campaign in question is National Ladder Safety Month. Under the campaign, every March will get this designation from now on. The campaign is by the American Ladder Institute, a ladder industry group.

It will be interesting to see how the first run of this special safety month goes and what kinds of educational and awareness efforts it ends up including.
