Biography
Michelle Mayne Davis was born in New Orleans and raised in Chalmette, Louisiana. After graduating as Valedictorian from the Academy of the Holy Angels, she attended Louisiana State University on a full academic scholarship and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. in marketing. She attended Loyola University School of Law where she was on the Loyola Law Review and served as the Casenote/Quantum Study Editor. She was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1994.
Michelle began her legal career with the Houma law firm, St. Martin & Lirette, practicing in personal injury, maritime, mass tort/class action litigation, probate and successions. In 2000, she moved to St. Tammany Parish, and became the sole Northshore attorney for the Metairie-based firm, Dwyer & Cambre, practicing commercial, real estate and construction transactions and litigation, estate planning and probate and successions. In August 2008, she joined with Mark Duncan, another attorney from that firm, to establish Davis & Duncan, LLC, where she represented individuals, privately held businesses, professionals and real estate investors, as well as homeowners and condominium associations. She has acted as general counsel to a number of professionals and small businesses, advising them on general business and insurance matters and representing them in real estate transactions, litigation, arbitration and mediation. She has represented the State of Louisiana, the Louisiana Attorney General, the Louisiana Department of Revenue and Taxation, the Terrebonne Parish School Board, and the Republic of Panama.
She has been admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Michelle is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and serves on the board of the St. Thomas More Catholic Lawyers Association. She is the president-elect for the Junior League of Covington.
Michelle resides in Lacombe with her husband and two children.
